I've given three TEDx Talks. You can watch them all here, starting from the most recent.

7 Surprising Lessons from Picking Up 3,000 African hitchhikers

In November 2019 at TEDx EVHS, I gave my third TEDx Talk.

Bring Out Your Inner Black Sheep

In October 2018, I gave my second TEDx Talk at the TEDx Harker School event.

I begin by contrasting how 3 black sheep from long ago compare to 3 black sheep from the present.

A lot has changed.

Being a black sheep could get you killed. Today, it may make you rich.

However, it doesn't always lead to wealth.

I spend the rest of my talk telling the story about one female I met in Africa.

She was the boldest black sheep I met in Africa.

Her story is so remarkable that you'll want to hear it and share it:

Here's the Q&A that followed:

How and Why Travel Transforms You

TEDx Fillmore banner

On October 4, 2012, I gave my first TEDx talk in San Francisco at the Fillmore.

It's gotten over 100,000 views.

The theme of the TEDx Fillmore conference was "Passing the Baton."

To address that theme, my talk focused on how travel can help you pick up batons of knowledge/wisdom, and that it is our duty to then pass those batons to others.

Along the way, I share my most intense travel experiences. I also share a personal story about my father, whose DNA is clearly in me since I love to travel as much as he did.

If you think these talks are ideas worth spreading, please share and nominate me to speak at a TED Conference.

Bonus Q&A Video

If you're hungry for more of my presentations, here's a Q&A I had after giving a talk. What's unusual is that shy Rejoice Tapon speaks up at it:

Your comment will be deleted if:

  • It doesn't add value. (So don't just say, "Nice post!")
  • You use a fake name, like "Cheap Hotels."
  • You embed a self-serving link in your comment.
