Visits to New York City are always exciting and entertaining; this year will be no exception. The city seems to have a different energy, and given the difficulties brought on by the pandemic over the last two summers, this one is expected to be twice as good.

New York City has it all, and it's especially appealing to bettors now that gambling is legal and operational, with options such as Caesar’s New York sportsbook available.

Aside from wagering and the like, there will be plenty of fun activities to participate in during the summer of 2022 and beyond, including free soirees, music events, rooftop films, and more. Let's look at the seven most exciting activities there are to do.

1. Try UpDating

UpDating is a comedy show that has gained widespread popularity. It emphasizes the difficulties people face when dating but is also quite romantic.

New York comedian Brandon Berman and dating blogger Harrison Forman created the show, which pairs two people on stage for a blind date. While it could be a disaster for the couple involved, it's a pretty amusing experience.

2. DiscOasis

Following the introduction of Rockefeller Center's groovy roller skating rink, Central Park launched a new musical and theatrical experience at its own Wollman Rink. This newer attraction, The DiscOasis, will be open until October 1.

While it remains open, New Yorkers can enjoy multiple programs and theatrical performances with live DJs and special guests, open skate sessions throughout the day, and food and beverage.

Nile Rodgers, the famous musician and producer, has created a special playlist of tracks for the local DJ who comes out every night to play for skaters and dancers.

3. Cyberpunk-inspired Asian Food Hall

Tangram's new food hall and beer garden were inspired by the vibrant night markets of Asian cities. It's a cyberpunk-themed space with an organic industrial vibe, serving dishes like Cruncheese, Na Tart, Qing Shu, Zaab Zaab, and Da Wei Mei Shi, among many others.

The space was created to recreate the nightlife seen in Netflix's Midnight Asia and BHDM Design principal Dan Mazzarini's experiences in Singapore, Hong Kong, Beijing, and Taipei.

4. Swingers' Crazy Golf

Swinger's Golf in NYC

Crazy Golf is British, but Swingers NoMad has a crazy mini-golf course and entertainment complex that includes three nine-hole golf courses spread across 23,000 square feet below 20-foot high ceilings.

This variation of mini-golf is from the United Kingdom, but it is only for people over the age of 21, as caddies serve craft cocktails. Six cocktail bars serve signature cocktails from London and Washington, D.C., and 12 cocktails are explicitly created for Swingers NoMad.

Private rooms, a luxurious clubhouse, and four gourmet street food vendors are also available for rent.

5. Date Night at The Met

The Metropolitan Museum of Art has created a Date Night that has successfully redefined dating. You should definitely check it out with your partner if you're close. Date Night allows participants to become acquainted with artwork through informal gallery chats and the luxury of listening to live music while sipping cocktails.

This activity takes place Friday and Saturday nights from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the American Wing Cafe.

6.  The Walking Dead Behind the Scenes

The Museum of The Moving Image  "Living with The Walking Dead" has been open since late June. It provides visitors with various costumes, props, concept art, scripts, storyboards, and prosthetic makeup instruments that help explain the show's origins.

There are 500 objects total, including over 300 props and production materials.

Visitors will have access to various screenings and public events if they are curious to learn more about how things work behind the scenes.

7. Brunch for Your Puppy

Puppy Brunch has become an option at HOWM Cocina + Cocktails, starting on July 10. The Chelsea restaurant welcomes pet owners and caters to the entire party.

Customers could order avocado toast with pickled onion and chili oil, pan dulce French toast, a lox tostada with everything seasoning, and churro bites. In contrast, their dogs could order doggy meatballs and a puppy frosty.

The package includes a human entree and dessert, a dog menu, and a complimentary doggy bag with treats.
